Piping in and address to the haggis.

Three course meal (only £11.50).

The Immortal Memory.

Toast to the lassies and reply from the lassies.

Auld lang syne.

Refreshments will be available up to 11pm.

 

 

Traditionally ‘The Immortal Memory’ looks at the life of Robert Burns and this talk will concentrate on mathematical connections including the dynamics of love inspired by his relationship with Nancy McLehose. A model of moodswings

derived from a single postulate will also be given. Typically the mathematics used will be covered in the later years of secondary school and early years in higher education.

 

This mathematical social event is open to anyone with an interest in the subject which inspired Scotland’s bard to the heights of creativity.
