MATHEMATICS 2008

24 April 2008
Staple Inn Hall
High Holborn
London

The IMA is holding a major one day conference on mathematics and its applications for the present day on 24 April 2008 at The Institute of Actuaries, Staple Inn Hall, High Holborn, London.

The aim of the conference is to bring together people with an interest in mathematics and its applications to consider current issues in the subject.  The conference topics will cover mathematics education at school and higher levels; research topics in mathematics; and industrial applications of mathematics.  These topics will be of interest to both mathematicians and those working with mathematicians as the presentations will address the impact of the work rather than emphasise its technical nature. The conference will give an opportunity for informal discussion between people who are interested in a variety of areas in mathematics. Full details of the speakers and the programme are shown below.

This conference follows on the successful conferences held in Manchester in 2005 and London in 2007.

You can register for the conference by e-mailing conferences@ima.org.uk Space at the conference is limited, following 2007s sell-out event please register early to avoid disappointment.
