Higher Education

EEVL
EEVL is the Internet Guide to Engineering, Mathematics and Computing. EEVL's mission is to provide access to quality networked engineering, mathematics and computing resources, and be the national focal point for online access to information in these subjects. It is an award-winning free service, created and run by a team of information specialists from a number of universities and institutions in the UK.

Internet Mathematician
A free "teach yourself" tutorial on Internet information skills aimed at mathematicians and mathematics students.

London Taught Course Centre
The LTCC is run by a consortium of universities in the London region. It offers a programme of one day a week advanced courses in mathematics and statistics for PhD research students in the region, and short intensive courses open to students from elsewhere in the UK and Europe.

LTSN Maths Stats & OR Network
This website contains a wealth of educational resources, relevant news and information to support the learning and teaching of Mathematics, Statistics and Operational Research, with opportunities for your contributions.

Mathcentre
Mathcentre is an on-line mathematics support centre which provides resources to help students make the transition from school-level to university-level mathematics. There are also resources and useful links for those who teach or support students.

Pi in the Sky
This is the web page of the downloadable journal "Pi in the Sky". It is published by The Pacific Institute for the Mathematical Sciences, and is also available in booklet form, semi-annually. The journal is devoted to cultivating mathematical reasoning and problem-solving skills and preparing students to face the challenges of the high-technology era. There is a nice mix of interesting articles and challenging problems, and jokes and cartoons which may occasionally be used to brighten up a lecture . Several back issues are available on-line.

Student Times

Is a long term national initiative with the broad goal of helping people of all ages and abilities share in the excitement of mathematics and understand the enormous range and importance of its applications to science and commerce.

TIS
A reference database which holds information on every course in the UK. Accessible from most schools and careers centres.

Undergraduate Ambassadors Scheme
Its aim is to encourage a new generation of scientists, mathematicians and engineers by a flexible degree module which places undergraduates in classrooms as role models for pupils and a source of support for teachers.
