The CPD Cycle
The currently recommended approach to CPD treats the process as a cyclical experience. This is shown diagrammatically in fig. 1.

There are many different ways in which to document your review and plan. You can integrate this documentation with your employer’s staff appraisal procedures if they more or less record the same information.

You can find the CPD PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT ACTION PLAN CPD2a in Word or PDF and the corresponding CPD PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT RECORD CPD2b in Word or PDF.

If you are a Chartered Scientist and working towards eventual revalidation, you should use a modified version of the PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT ACTION PLAN CPD4a in Word or PDF and the PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT RECORD CPD4b in Word or PDF
You will also need to refer to the Chartered Mathematician competence codes listed in document CPD5 in Word and PDF
