The IMA's Schools and Further Education Committee (S&FE) work to promote mathematics education at secondary level.

The Chair of the Schools and Further Education committee is Mr Chris Belsom CMath FIMA (Formally Head of Mathematics Ampleforth College, York).

• National Centre for Excellence in the Teaching of Mathematics (NCETM) - Online Self-Evaluation Tools

  The NCETM is updating the online self-evaluation tools (SET), which help teachers audit their subject knowledge and pedagogy.

• Office of the Qualifications and Examinations Regulator (Ofqual) - GCSE Reform Consultation

  Ofqual is consulting on the regulatory aspects of proposed changes to GCSEs taken by students in England.

• Department for Education - Consultation on GCSE subject content and assessment objectives

  The Department is now seeking views on proposed subject content and assessment objectives for new GCSEs.

• Engineering Mathematics Challenge - Your chance to win £1000

  The Engineering Mathematics department at the University of Bristol is running an Engineering Mathematics Challenge.

• Advisory Committee on Mathematics Education (ACME) - Annual Conference 2013 - Greater than the sum of the parts: mathematics education

• Department for Education - GCSE Reform

  The Secretary of State has written to Ofqual, the independent regulator of qualifications in England, setting out the Government’s policy on reforms to qualifications at the end of Key Stage 4.

• Department for Education - 2014 National Curriculum

  The Secretary of State for Education has announced a public consultation on the draft programmes of study for all National Curriculum subjects in Key Stages 1 to 3, and draft programmes of study for citizenship, computing and PE in Key Stage 4.
