The Science Council Declaration on Diversity, Equality and Inclusion

The IMA has signed the Science Council Declaration on Diversity, Equality and Inclusion and we benchmark our diversity activities using the Science Council and RAEng Diversity Framework.

We are committed to making improvements to ensure we remain a welcoming place for every mathematician. We support the mathematics community to attract and retain a wide range of talent into the profession, and to help them progress along the way.

Diversity Champion

As a signatory to the Science Council’s Declaration on DEI, we commit to having a board-level (Council member) Diversity Champion, whose role includes:

  • Being a point of contact and ally for our members,
  • Championing D&I at council,
  • Ensuring continual improvement along the Science Council’s Declaration on Diversity and Inclusion Progression Framework.

Our current Diversity Champion is Dr Snezana Lawrence.

IMA Policy on Women in Mathematics
