Study Groups with Industry

Study Groups with Industry have been held regularly in Europe for over 30 years. In this talk Hilary Ockendon will describe how a Study Group
works and how it provides an opportunity for staff and students to work together with an industrial scientist on the modelling of a real problem. Ashley Pitcher will then give a student's view of the activity. The talk will be illustrated by examples of the sort of problems that arise and how they are tackled.
