Organisational Structure

The governing body of the Institute is Council whose membership consists of the seven officers (see below), the immediate three past presidents, the president designate and twenty one ordinary members. Fifteen Council members are elected by corporate members. Six are co-opted by Council. The officers are appointed by Council.

Council meets three times a year and takes a strategic overview of the policies and development of the Institute. The operational control of the Institute is managed through the Executive Board. The membership consists of the President, Honorary Officers and Executive Director.  Each Honorary Officer has a specific area of responsibility:

The IMA has various committees which have strategic or statutory functions.

The IMA also has a number of representatives on various organisations and external committees.
