Interest Groups

The science of numbers and their operations, interrelations, combinations, generalization, and abstractions and of space configurations and their structure, measurement, transformations, and generalizations. - Webster's Collegiate Dictionary

A Special Interest Group is a set of people with an interest in a particular area of mathematics. At present there are two active groups, both of which produce newsletters, and two newer groups being created.

Computational Science and Engineering Group
With the growing interest among mathematicians and computational scientists, it is the right time to start a new Special Interest Group for Computational Science and Engineering. At the moment, the University of Greenwich has a core team of people working closely in the field. Members of the Institute and others are welcome to join this new Special Interest Group by visiting http://cms1.gre.ac.uk/CSESoc

Systems and Control Theory Group
Systems and Control Theory is an active area within the Institute with many conferences and the publication of the IMA Journal of Mathematical Control and Information. The IMA Systems and Control Theory Group aims to improve the visibility of the field, contribute to its development, and promote general interest in the area.
