I work on a multi million pound construction project. My role includes commercial, legal and administrative control of the job working within a small team of four.

The majority of my time is spent on issues surrounding either pursuing or paying money, therefore mathematical accuracy is very important. The remaining time is spent on producing reports on various subjects, all of which require the use of maths. This can be either basic calculation of areas and volumes, monetary calculations (using compound interest) or very complicated monte carlo and other probability calculations. Even reports on legal issues contain mathematical calculations relating to time or money.
